Maternity Bridesmaid Dresses
Maternity Bridesmaid Dresses with Style and Comfort
When its time to select your closest and most beloved
friends to be your bridesmaids, most brides never
consider what theyll do if their planned bridesmaid
happens to be pregnant at the time. Luckily, maternity
bridesmaid dresses can be bought or made so that your
friend who is expecting can still take place in the
festivities and still look the part. Finding maternity
bridesmaid dresses may be a bit more difficult, but with
a determined bride to be and pregnant friend, it can be
done!
Unless you are getting your bridesmaid dresses made, you
may not be able to find a maternity bridesmaid dress
that matches other dresses exactly. But, you should be
able to match color, length, and general style pretty
well so that your expectant friend doesnt stand out or
feel uncomfortable, yet everyone will still look great
in pictures and coming down the aisle.
Shopping for maternity bridesmaid dresses should take
place a bit later than one might traditionally buy a
bridesmaid dress. Because no woman knows exactly how big
her belly will get and when, its best to put off the
purchasing of the dress until the last moment. But, that
doesnt mean you have to wait long to shop for the
dress. The bride to be and expectant bridesmaid should
go shopping months ahead of time and try to find a dress
that is comfortable for one and acceptable for the
other.
Maternity boutiques are probably the best place to shop
for a dress. Although the dresses that can be found at
the stores are not made specifically for weddings, they
usually carry formal wear for the expectant mother and
they can help anticipate belly size so that the right
dress can be bought a bit ahead of time. These stores
may also have a bigger selection of dresses to choose
from so a desired color or style can be found more
easily.
Many expectant mothers are modest about their belly, so
shopping at a maternity boutique is a good idea so that
the sales consultants can help select a dress that will
hide the belly and make it less noticeable as she comes
down the aisle as a bridesmaid. Maternity boutiques can
also help flaunt and camouflage the appealing and not so
perfect characteristics of just about any body shape.
A seamstress may also be a good resource for perfect
maternity bridesmaid dresses. A seamstress can look at a
typical bridesmaid dress and tailor one to fit a
pregnant body, if the bride is looking for uniformity
amongst her bridesmaids. This may also be a cheaper
option, as maternity formalwear can be quite costly.
Most large department stores also sell formal wear for
pregnant women, and these would work as maternity
bridesmaid dresses, too. As long as it fits well, is
comfortable, and the expectant mother is comfortable,
pretty much anything will work!
Maternity bridesmaid dresses can be just as beautiful
and work well with the overall theme and style of the
wedding, just remember that an expecting woman may need
just a little bit more comfort and support than other
bridesmaids.
